West Elgin "Reduced Load" Period - Effective March 1st - April 30 th

Includes all roads within the Municipality of West Elgin other than Elgin County Roads 2, 3, 6, 76, 103 and 104.

During a reduced load period no commercial motor vehicles or trailer shall be operated or drawn upon any designated roadway where the weight upon an axle exceeds 5000 kg.

Reduced Load restrictions do not apply to:

  • Municipal vehicles engaged in highway maintenance operations
  • Vehicles used exclusively for transportation of milk
  • Fire Apparatus
  • Vehicles operated by or on behalf of West Elgin transporting waste
  • Public Utility emergency vehicles.

Failure to obey the reduced load period may result in charges under the Highway Traffic Act.
