Animal Licensing

Visit our dog licensing page for dog tag costs and where to get your tag.

Be sure you have a kennel licence permit before starting your kennel!

Stray Dogs

Call the Glencoe Animal Shelter at 1-800-830-9367 if you see a dog that is potentially dangerous or running free.

Dangerous Dogs

A dangerous dog is a dog that has bitten or injured a human being or domestic animal; or that has been threatening or aggressive towards a human being or domestic animal.

Cats

West Elgin does not licence cats. Please contact the Glencoe Animal Shelter if you have issues with stray cats on your property.

Sick or Injured Animals

Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Centre can help you, if you find wildlife that is in distress. Please contact them right away so the animal can get the help it needs.
