Council Remuneration
Section 248 of the Municipal Act requires annual reporting for the remuneration and expenses paid to each member of Council by March 31 of the following year.

Code of Conduct
Our Code of Conduct applies to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Councillors, and any member of a Council Committee or Board. They have important roles in our community and must act in an open and respectful way.
You may submit a formal complaint, if you think someone has broken the Code of Conduct. Please email the form to the Clerk or drop it off in person at the Municipal Office.
Council members submit a Disclosure Statement to the Clerk, if they are given a large gift.
Conflicts of Interest
Conflicts of Interest happen when a member of Council has a personal interest in a matter on the Council Agenda. They must let the Clerk know and leave Chambers before the other members start discussions. The Clerk keeps a record of all Conflicts of Interest.
Integrity Commissioner
Our Integrity Commissioner is Independent Resolutions Inc. They make sure Council follows the Code of Conduct and Procedural By-law. You can contact our Integrity Commissioner at 519-670-4517 or by email.
Council members can request advice from the Integrity Commissioner if they have any concerns about Council meetings.
Closed Meeting Investigator
Our Integrity Commissioner also acts as our Closed Meeting Investigator. They investigate when there are concerns about closed sessions of Council. You can contact our Investigator at 519-670-4517 or by email.
Ombudsman
Independent Resolutions Inc. is also our municipal ombudsman. They will investigate if there is a concern about Council conduct. You can contact them at 519-670-4517 or by email.
